Who are the leading experienced architecture firms in Massachusetts that have designed marijuana cultivation facilities?
Seven leading experienced architecture firms in Massachusetts that have designed marijuana cultivation facilities are Anderson Porter Design, Helicon, Keenan and Kenny, BKA Architects, Stack + Co., Elton + Hampton Architects, and Tony Fallon Architecture. The details for each firm, including website, address, contact information, and experience have been entered on the attached spreadsheet.
Methodology
To find the leading architecture firms in Massachusetts that have experience in designing marijuana cultivation facilities, I searched the Registered Marijuana Dispensary (RMD) database to identify the dispensaries that also have cultivation facilities. Then, I performed press and permit searches in an attempt to identify the architects and design groups that worked on these facilities. The first three architectural firms on the list, Anderson Porter Design, Helicon, and Keenan and Kenny, were prominently mentioned in numerous press releases about marijuana grow facilities. As such, because these three firms all advertise their work in the cannabis industry and tout their experience, I determined they are the leading firms with the most experience in Massachusetts. Thus, they are the first three companies on the spreadsheet.
The next three architectural firms on the list, BKA Architects, Stack + Co. and Elton + Hampton Architects, were much more difficult to identify as they do not overtly advertise their marijuana cultivation services. I eventually found obscure mentions of these companies in press releases and worked backward to verify they indeed have experience designing cultivation facilities. Their experience is documents in column E of the attached spreadsheet.
Tony Fallon Architecture is listed last on the spreadsheet because although it is licensed to provide design services in Massachusetts and has participated in the architecture design of marijuana grow facilities located in Massachusetts, its headquarters is in New Hampshire. However, because it is able to design cultivation facilities in Massachusetts and has previous experience with the marijuana industry in Massachusetts, I elected to include Tony Fallon Architecture on the list.
Please note that this list may not be comprehensive of all firms in Massachusetts that have been involved in designing marijuana cultivation facilities in the state. However, after three hours of research, these are the only seven I was able to identify. Therefore, I believe these are the leading design and architecture firms in the marijuana cultivation industry currently operating in Massachusetts.
Conclusion
There are relatively few architecture and design firms in Massachusetts that have experience designing marijuana cultivation facilities. Of the seven firms I located, the companies with the most experience are Anderson Porter Design, Helicon, and Keenan + Kenny, although BKA Architects, Stack + Co., and Elton + Hampton Architects have recently completed cannabis grow operation projects in the state as well.
