ADDITIONAL FINDINGS: OTHER TECH HIRERS IN ILLINOIS

RESEARCH STRATEGY

To find the top tech hirers in Illinois, we first searched for a list of the largest tech companies in Illinois and found a precompiled list of technology companies in Illinois and fastest-growing tech companies in Chicago. However, the companies in the lists are not ranked according to the number of employees in Illinois, so we combined both lists and used the collated list as a starting point. Next, we individually looked for the number of employees and job openings in each company. However, certain companies only have estimates for their number of employees; for example, several tech companies in Illinois have 500 to 1,000 employees. For companies where we could not find more specific information on the number of employees in the public domain even after exhaustive research, we used the lowest number in the estimates. Lastly, we ranked the companies according to the number of employees and job openings and entered our findings in the attached spreadsheet.

Research Strategy:

In order to provide the top 25-30 top tech hirers in Kansas, we began the research by searching for a precompiled list of the largest companies in Kansas. Based on this search effort we were able to find Zippia’s list of 100 biggest companies in Kansas, Kansas City Business Journal list of the 50 fastest-growing companies, and regional employers by the KC Tech Council.

The list compiled by the KC Tech Council identified the companies as the region's major employers and also provided the number of employees. Hence, the list answers the question of hirers who employ the most people in the state of Kansas.

Next, we narrowed down the listed to just "tech" companies and reviewed the company websites for the number of current employees each company had and also to identify the number of jobs openings.

All the findings have been compiled and presented in 'Key Findings' section above and in the spreadsheet.

RESEARCH STRATEGY:

To provide the top 25-30 top tech hirers in Florida, we searched for a precompiled list of the largest companies in Florida. Through this, we were able to find Zippia’s list of the 100 biggest companies in Florida and the best technology companies in Florida.

The lists compiled by Zippia identified the companies as the state's major employers and also provided the number of employees. However, certain companies identified in the list only had estimates for their number of employees; for example, several tech companies in Florida have 100 to 1,000 employees.

Next, we narrowed down the list to just "tech" companies. We achieved this by searching through the company websites and company profiling databases such as Linkedin, Crunchbase, and Bloomberg, among others. A review of the company websites helped us to collate data for the number of job openings. For a few companies, we could not identify their current job openings on their websites. In these cases, we leveraged data from Indeed, Glassdoor, and Linkedin to provide the required information.

All the findings have been compiled and presented in the Florida section in the attached spreadsheet.
