This figure has continued to fluctuate year-over-year within the last seven years. There were a total of 71,856 pizza shops in 2012, then it dropped to 71,387 in 2013. It increased to 73,097 in 2014, followed by another increase to 74,812 and 76,723 in 2015 and 2016 respectively. This figure saw a drop to 75,243 in 2017 and finally, an increase to 76,993 in 2018.
