Healthcare Services Newsfeed 4/6-4/12
A variety of news stories have been published over the past week (4/6/18-4/12/18) that are relevant to the healthcare industry in the United States. Our research included a review of information on healthcare service providers, health insurance payers, mergers and acquisitions, personnel changes, new technology tools and trials, healthcare management involving opioids, and legislation to reduce the use of opioids in emergency rooms. All the stories have been presented appropriately on the attached spreadsheet.
Please note that some stories are behind a paywall but can be easily assessed with a free registration on the site. We have added them because they are important stories on the ER, CMS, and acquisitions. They include the story on New York creating a pilot project on opioid alternatives in the ER, balance billing in Rhode Island, Senator Warren’s proposed opioid legislation which affects the ER, Nesmart’s acquisition of Change Healthcare, and the Anthem/Cigna $3-million payout preventing a $54-billion merger.
