Heads of University Computer Science Departments (Part 1)

Summary

To fulfill this request, we have populated the attached spreadsheet with information of chair/heads of twenty (20) university/college Computer Science departments including the names of the institution, First Name, Last Name and Email as stated in the research criteria.

We selected universities and colleges ranked as those with the best Computer Science departments in the United States, ensuring that they were recent rankings and reliable sources.

We also ensured that each university fit into the criteria of having more than 10,000 enrolled students and excluded the universities listed as those earlier captured including Harvard, Yale, University of Michigan, University of Virginia and University of Florida.

The information of each head of department was sourced directly from the websites of the universities and colleges.

Conclusion

Rows 2-21 of the attached spreadsheet has been populated with the names of universities/colleges, as well as the First Names, Last Name and Emails of the chairs/heads of their Computer Science departments.

Heads of University Computer Science Departments (Part 2)

An additional 20 heads/chairs of computer science departments at universities in the United States have been provided on rows 22 to 41 of the attached spreadsheet. The universities provided do not include Harvard, Yale, University of Michigan, University of Virginia, University of Florida along with universities listed in part one of the project. The 20 universities were obtained from the 2018 Times Higher Education World University Rankings list for computer science. Only universities with more than 10,000 enrolled students according to Times Higher Education have been provided.
Please note that Arizona State University and Indiana University do not have a head solely for the Computer Science department. Therefore, details for Sandeep Gupta, the Director of School of Computing, Informatics, and Decision Systems Engineering, which includes the Faculty of Computer Science and Engineering (Arizona State University), and Raj Acharya, the Dean of the School of Informatics, Computing, and Engineering, which includes the Department of Computer Science Indiana University (Indiana University) have been provided on the spreadsheet.
