Jabulani’s Zindoga Villa

The Jabulani is located within the Kapama Private Game Reserve in Greater Kruger Area, South Africa. Zindoga Villa has been listed as a lodge that caters to families with children of all ages. Its Team Tusker program introduces children to “a wildlife wonderland to experience a host of exciting adventure activities, whilst learning about Africa’s diverse wildlife.” The chefs at Jabulani also provide custom-made menus for children upon request.

Shamwari Private Game Reserve’s Riverdene Family Lodge

The Shamwari Private Game Reserve is located in Paterson, South Africa. It comprises six lodges with only the Riverdene Family Lodge catering to families with children. Riverdene Family Lodge offers indoor and outdoor activities for children. Indoor activities include visits to the Born Free Foundation Big Cat Rescue Centre, Adventure Centre, and Kids Club. Outdoor activities zones include a playground and maze. Only children aged four years and older are allowed to go on game drives and childminding service is available upon request.

Four Seasons Safari Lodge Serengeti

The Four Seasons Safari Lodge Serengeti is located within the Serengeti National Park in Central Serengeti, Tanzania. Serengeti by Four Seasons offers the Big Five Family Safari Package that includes “a day-by-day itinerary helping families discover the very best of the Serengeti, children will learn about the big five – the lion, leopard, buffalo, elephant, and rhinoceros.” The lodge also allows guests to observe the wildlife from the infinity pool, go on game drives, board a hot air balloon (for children aged seven and above), and have a “family dinner out in the bush.” The Kijana Kids Club’s Kids For All Seasons Program “aims to provide a fun and safe environment for our younger guests, encouraging them to experience Africa by exploring and discovering through interactive activities.”

Asilia Africa’s Rubondo Island Camp

Asilia Africa operates over 20 lodges/camps in Tanzania and Kenya. The Rubondo Island Camp is located in Rubondo Island, Tanzania. It provides several family safari activities for families with children aged five and older. The Family Safari Experience includes bush guides sharing “bush-wise facts, traditional games, local folklore, incredible stories of life in the bush and extraordinary sightings” with the guests. The Children’s Safari Program offers animal tracks identifying lessons, guided bush walks, visits to nearby communities and schools, and others.

&Beyond’s Bateleur Camp

&Beyond operates several lodges/camps across 13 countries in Africa. The Bateleur Camp is located within the Masai Mara National Reserve in Masai Mara, Kenya. The WILDChild program is designed for children of all ages and includes activities such as “tracking and fishing, making traditional bows and arrows, beading, crafting and painting,” and others. Serena Hotels’ Sweetwaters Serena Camp

Serena Hotels operates over 20 lodges/camps across five countries in Africa. The Sweetwaters Serena Camp is located within the Ol Pejeta Conservancy in Nanyuki Municipality, Kenya. It is one of the lodges in Serena Hotels’ portfolio that markets itself as a family holiday destination. Sweetwaters Serena Camp offers activities such as lion-tracking, visits to the Jane Goodall Chimpanzee Sanctuary and Morani Information Centre, guided nature walks, family game drives, family breakfasts by the river, Maasai and Samburu dancing, and trips to local villages and/or schools.
