Find out for me the top 100 businesses in Australia with the most employees.

Hello! Thank you for your request to find the top 100 businesses in Australia with the most employees. The most useful sources for this response came from corporate websites and industry reports. The short version is that the top 14 employers, by number of employees, in Australia are, in descending order: Wesfarmers, Woolworths, Commonwealth Bank, Telstra, ANZ, Qantas, BHP Billiton, National Australia Bank, Worley Parsons, Rio Tinto, Thiess, Macquarie Group, Leighton Contractors and Westpac.

METHODOLOGY
My colleague and I have scoured the Internet for articles, papers and statistics related to this subject.

Please note that no pre-compiled list could be found that stated the required directly, therefore I have compiled a 'Wonder List', which usually consists of 10 items, but since data was found on 14 companies I included the numbers for these 14. The bulk of the information that was available came from a Linked In page, citing Australia's top employers.

According to the Australian Bureau of Labor Statistics, there are 3,429 businesses in Australia with 200 or more employees.

Below is a breakdown of the data that was collected.
