Find Your Match - Finance

In the provided survey, 59 individuals answered questions about their interest in getting advice from specific people, getting advice from non-specified people, and their interest in sharing the option of these contacts with others. Below is a breakdown of the age, gender, income, and geographic areas of the respondents. More detailed information is available in the attached spreadsheet.

RESPONDANT BREAKDOWN
By gender, 22 of the respondents were female and 26 were male, with another 11 giving no answer. Women and men had similar responses, with 63.6% of women and 61.5% of men stated that they would be interested in speaking to at least one of the specific people discussed in the survey.

In terms of age, the older the respondent, the less likely a respondent was to show an interest in any of the specific contacts mentioned in the survey. The youngest group represented in the survey, those aged 18-29 and those aged 30-44 were most likely to be interested in speaking to at least one of the contacts, with 10 of the 12 respondents in each of those age groups responding affirmatively. Those aged 45-60 years were least likely to be interested, with only 8 of the 24 expressing interest in any of the specific contacts offered.

Because the sample size was small for each geographic region it is hard to determine any significant trends by region. Only three regions had 8 or more respondents — the East North Central and South Atlantic regions with 8 each, and the Pacific region with 10 respondents. Of these, the East North Central region had the lowest percentage of respondents interested in any of the specific contacts, at 62.5%, and the South Atlantic, with 87.5%, had the highest.

The same issue arises with determining trends by income. Almost half of the income groups were represented by fewer than 4 respondents, with 8 respondents the largest of the nine groups. In this group, those with incomes between $25,000 and $49,999, 6 of the 8 respondents stated an interest in speaking to any of the specific contacts.

CONCLUSION
While few trends were identifiable due to the small sample size for income ranges and geographic regions, it appears that those in the highest age range were least likely to be interested in any of the specific contacts offered in the survey, while women and men were very similar in their interest levels. Complete breakdowns of survey responses can be found in the attached spreadsheet.
