What are the most exciting SaaS companies in Canada that haven't yet raised a Series A?
We were able to find ten Canadian SaaS companies that have been interesting and popular enough to gain funding from US and Canadian investors, all who were in the seed round of funding. Based on this, we deemed these companies to be the most exciting as they attracted both investors and media attention among hundreds of other companies. We've also reviewed each company to see what services they offered and if they were innovative, if they were already used by many people or influential companies and if they had won any awards or accolades. The ten most exciting SaaS companies that haven't yet raised a Series A funding are TrendMD, Showbie, Gradeslam, Mindbridge, Routific, Crowdriff, Statflo, Hockeystick, Unito and Zoocasa. All the companies, alongside their websites, descriptions and funding they received so far have been compiled in the attached spreadsheet.
OVERVIEW
TrendMD is a website that "helps customers gain views and distribution of their scholarly works". They are in the seeding stage of funding and have so far raised $149,739.
Showbie is a software that "makes it easy for more than 1.5 million teachers and students to organize classroom workflow and improve productivity and communication in one convenient place". They are in the seeding stage of funding and have so far raised $2,300,00.
GradeSlam is a power personalized learning in schools and districts. They are in the seeding stage of funding and have so far raised $1,600,000.
MindBridge is a venture-backed FinTech company based in Ottawa. "Using the MindBridge AI Auditor, organizations across multiple industries can minimize financial loss". They are in the seeding stage of funding and have so far raised $4,300,000.
Routific is "a route optimization software that will become a critical part of our customers’ daily operations. Routific takes into account time windows, vehicle types, load capacities, and pickup and delivery constraints in order to provide users with up to 40% shorter routes". They are in the seeding stage of funding and have so far raised $118,000.
Crowdriff "creates data-smart destinations for brands using a custom scoring system to deliver highly engaging content in real-time, capture rich consumer insights and opt-in encourage activities valued by the brand." They are in the seeding stage of funding and have so far raised $2,000,000.
Statflo "offers smart lists, which processes customer records to automatically start conversations between customers and employees; a CRM optimized for the retail front line; and on-demand report generation tools". They are in the seeding stage of funding and have so far raised $2,400,000.
Hockeystick is a financial market data network that provides deep insight into private companies. They are in the seeding stage of funding and have so far raised $600,000.
Unito is "a project-management-app integrator. It’s a tool that builds connectors which synchronize different business apps such as Asana, Github, Trello and so on". They are in the seeding stage of funding and have so far raised $452,000.
Zoocasa is a software company that "makes buying and selling a home smarter and faster by marrying modern technology with a full-service real estate team." They are in the seeding stage of funding and have so far raised $1,059,000.
