Methodology

We began our research by checking statistics websites, research firms, and media websites for any reports about the European public transit market size. We checked Europa, OECD, Statista, Forrester, Deloitte, eMarketer, and Gartner among others. This strategy did not lead us to any helpful information that directly provides the requested data.
However, we found a statistical report from National Express Group stating that the European public transit market size was 150 billion euro in 2010 and it stayed stable from 2010 to 2014. But nothing specific to the current European public transit market size. Also, we found on Europa another statistic stating that the passenger transport market size in Europe increased by 2.6 % between 2014 and 2015, and it is increasing since then (including the public transit). Again, nothing specific to the current European public transit market size.
Also, we found on Global Mass Transit that the market size of buses in Europe ranged between US$28 billion to US$37 billion in 2016. In addition, we came across a report from Europa that gives the modal split of passenger transport market in 2015 including buses and coaches, railways, metro, powered two-wheelers, and passengers cars.
