Research Strategy

To identify electric vehicles that can be purchased and delivered to the buyer in the US by March 1, 2021, we first examined an article published by RoadShow that provided a list of electric vehicles on sale in the US. The list featured only electric vehicles certified by the Environmental Protection Agency. An examination of the manufacturers’ US websites has revealed that every manufacturer except for Tesla, did not provide the estimated delivery dates for their vehicles. The estimated delivery date for Tesla’s Model 3, S, and X is four to six weeks and the first deliveries for the Model Y are expected to begin by March 2020.

An examination of car review sites, forums, and other articles has also provided limited verified data on the estimated delivery dates for the majority of the models examined. It has been reported that the Jaguar I-Pace has no waiting list as it is not selling well in the US. For the remaining models listed in rows 10 to 28 of the spreadsheet, it is assumed that they would be delivered by March 1, 2021 as there are no articles published online that mentioned a delay in delivery or long waiting lists for customers in the US.
