Research Strategy
The research team relied on data from statistics databases, media reports, industry reports, employee recruitment databases, among others to provide the insights required. We relied mostly on data from Starbucks to provide the various insights required where general data was unavailable. Where data on takeaway/apps were specifically requested and data wasn't directly available, we have provided data on drive-thru orders as an alternative as the order are typically made on an app and taken as takeaways.
While we were able to find most of the requested data, our research was unable to uncover data on the distribution of mean wait time vs. time of day. We extensively searched industry and media reports relating to the coffee industry in general but couldn't find the data. We also searched the data for specific companies such as Starbucks and Dunkin Donuts but couldn't uncover the data either. Hence, we have provided data showing typical peak times in a coffee shop and how peak times are changing due to a shift to remote working as an alternative.
