RESEARCH STRATEGY
We began our research by looking for publicly available lists of commonly prescribed medications for treating depression or anxiety. We looked into industry-related websites such as Healthline, Mayo Clinic, Medical News Today, and Psycom. Unfortunately, we were unable to find a list that ranked the commonly prescribed antidepressants. However, on these websites, we found four articles (from Healthline, Medical News Today, WebMD, and Psycom) that provided the names of depression and anxiety medications.
Out of our extensive search, we selected medications that met the following criteria: an antidepressant and available in at least two out of four of the publicly available lists assuming that this is proving that the medication is commonly prescribed. In our search, we excluded medications listed in parts one and two of this research.
