FINDINGS
I searched industry reports, corporate websites and trusted media sites in order to compose the most relevant answer to the question. From the competitors sourced, I selected 4 "biggest" based on revenue: Tapjoy, Chartboost, InMobi, and NativeX. I initially selected just the first 3 but decided to profile NativeX also because Chartboost focuses exclusively on game app advertising as opposed to the others that focus on all kinds of mobile apps advertising. Also, NativeX revenue is not that far from that of Chartboost -$9.7m and $10m respectively. So the competitors this project will focus on are Tapjoy, InMobi and NativeX.

Please note that generated revenue was used as opposed to funding, because revenue gives a better picture of the company's performance in the market.
