Top Consent Management Platforms 2

Five more consent management platforms that can be classified as some of the largest include Quantcast Choice, OneTrust Universal Consent and Preference Management, Universal Consent Platform (UCP), TrustArc Direct Marketing Consent Manager, and Sourcepoint's Consent Management Platform. Of the five, only Quantcast is free, while OneTrust Universal Consent and Preference Management start at $250 per month with additional volume-based pricing. OneTrust Universal Consent and Preference Management integrate with systems such as Salesforce, Eloqua, Okta, and RSA Archer. The requested details on each platform have been provided below.

Methodology

In order to identify five more of the largest consent management platforms (CMP) globally, we commenced our research by searching for reports and publications ranking consent management platforms by the number of sites they were installed on. We found a list of consent management platforms and tools on Built With, but in examining some of the platforms listed here, we found that these lists included WordPress plugins and widgets that are not necessarily platforms, which meant we couldn't use this list.

We also found that Adzerk compiles a monthly Consent Management Platform tracker, through which we were able to identify the "Top IAB-registered CMP vendors." According to the list, the top ten vendors are Quantcast, OneTrust, CrownPeak, TrustArc, Cookiebot, AdThrive/CafeMedia, Curse Digital Media, CivicUK, Sourcepoint, and Tealium. We excluded the CMP platforms that have been provided in the previous request. We also found that AdThrive/CafeMedia and Curse Digital Media do not provide the CMP platforms publicly.

A few things to note about this list include the fact that it is based on the top ten thousand sites in the UK and the top ten thousand sites in the United States, cumulatively, just below 16,000 unique sites due to overlap. Also, the list only considers platforms that have been registered by the Interactive Advertising Bureau Europe, which is responsible for the IAB Consent Framework that all platforms must follow. It is also worth noting that while not the best result, Built With reports that the United States and the United Kingdom account for 68% of CMP usage in the world. In the absence of other lists that provided a comparative list of platforms based on the number of websites they are used on, we have settled for this list by Adzerk.

We were unable to provide the pricing for CrownPeak Universal Consent Platform (UCP), TrustArc Direct Marketing Consent Manager, and Sourcepoint's Consent Management Platform. To source for this information, we started by thoroughly searching each platform's website, but there were no pages that provided any pricing details on the companies. Our next strategy was to leverage resources such as G2 Crowd and Capterra where apps, tools, and platforms are reviewed and compared on the basis of multiple features, including pricing. We also thought we customer reviews could provide hints of how each company's pricing worked. Unfortunately, this approach also proved futile.

Our next strategy was to conduct a press search on the subject matter to see if publications such as press releases announcing the release of the platforms provided pricing details or if there were interviews granted by company personnel that could give insights on the subject matter. Regrettably, we were unable to find any useful information on the subject matter.

1. Quantcast Choice

Quantcast's GDPR Consent and Transparency Management platform is built on the Interactive Advertising Bureau's (Europe) industry framework and is currently ranked number one CMP on the framework. Quantcast has received over 1 billion consent signals and works for both publishers and advertisers. "Once a user has consented to using their personal data on a global basis, it is applicable whenever they visit another website within the IAB Framework." Four use cases for Quantcast Choice include consent capture; consent by purpose such as analytics, targeted advertising, and content personalization; consent by company and vendors seeking access to user data; and data access rights, which serves as a portal for all company data privacy policies. Asides the self-serve code available to users, Quantcast also provides a WordPress plugin and a Drupal module. Users can customize Quantcast Choice using this tool. Quantcast Choice is also free and has no pro version, therefore, offers no membership or subscription pricing.

Users can also sync preferences with other systems such as marketing automation and CRMs. Examples of these systems include Salesforce, Eloqua, Okta, and RSA Archer. The standard version of OneTrust Universal Consent and Preference Management starts at $250 per month with additional volume-based pricing, while the price for the enterprise version is only available on request. Users can also leverage Sourcepoint's Dialogue platform to facilitate A/B testing and analytics. An example of Sourcepoint's use case includes allowing publishers to select either a global consent or site-specific consent, which will allow an enterprise company seek consent on one website and then apply it to other websites in the company's portfolio. Sourcepoint's Consent Management Platform pricing is not available publicly; prospective users need to contact its sales team to get pricing details.
