Competitors, Construction Site Analytics and Intelligence

Seven competitors to Indus.ai include Doxel AI, OnSiteIQ, Reconstruct, Uptake, Smartvid.io, Unleash Live, and Disperse. All the aforementioned construction-tech startups use computer vision except Uptake which only uses artificial intelligence and machine learning. Reconstruct is a computer vision based analytics company that enables construction project stakeholders to "to visually track progress in 3D and analyze productivity over the project timeline."

To identify the competitors to Indus.ai, we commenced our research by perusing its website to properly understand its products and services. We were able to determine that Indus.ai leverages technology to help improve efficiency, safety, and transparency in the construction industry. We then leveraged a combination of sources, including such as startup directories (Angel.co, Craft.co, Crunchbase, CBInsights), news articles and various reports highlighting the progress in the construction industry.

1. Doxel AI

Doxel AI leverages artificial intelligence and computer vision to "visually monitor" all aspects of the construction project, inspecting quality and tracking progress. The system works by capturing images and laser scans per day and then transferring the data into a deep learning algorithm, which then measures different quality and quantity metrics in real-time across factors such as budget, schedule, and quality.

OnSiteIQ captures 360-degree imagery which it transforms into interactive walkthroughs, which allows construction players to monitor progress, track issues, and collaborate with other parties in the project. OnSiteIQ uses artificial intelligence and computer vision "to provide visual documentation and risk assessment to the construction industry."

Reconstruct is a computer vision based analytics company that enables construction project stakeholders to "to visually track progress in 3D and analyze productivity over the project timeline." This, in turn, facilitates schedule coordination, feedback loops, and risk and potential delay detection through artificial intelligence-driven information.

Uptake offers predictive analytics for the construction company through the use of artificial intelligence and machine learning. Uptake enables project stakeholders to "improve operations and optimize equipment allocation and maintenance." Some of its products include Industrial CRM that helps anticipate customer needs and Uptake APM that helps adjust to changing operating conditions and economics.

5. Smartvid.io

Powered by computer vision technology, Smartvid.io analyzes and labels photos and videos of construction sites and automatically identify and flag key indicators of risks. Flagged images or videos can then be reviewed with the relevant project teams. Smartvid.io is also equipped with voice recognition. Smartvid.io also integrates with Autodesk BIM 360, Procore, and Ox Blue.

6. Unleash Live

Unleash Live combines computer vision with artificial intelligence and live streaming in order to provide real-time analytics for instant decision-making. Sources for images and videos can be from HD cameras, IP connected cameras, drones, connected robots, and mobile devices. Unleash Live serves multiple niches, including construction, infrastructure, smart cities, and emergency services.

7. Disperse.io

Disperse.io uses artificial intelligence and computer vision to track the progress of construction projects, detect anomalies, and to optimize project workflows. It works by taking 360-degree imagery of the construction site and then detecting changes by comparing different timelines in order to estimate task progress, which is automatically updated in project management applications such as Asta, Primavera or MS Project.
