This research was able to identify tools that address the ad spend of competitors. Although these tools also provide insights into keywords, they meet the criteria of providing a more broad analysis of the competitive landscape.

  • This company aims to equip its clients by presenting accurate and actionable competitive information. This platform analyzes peers, partners, and industry players. By gathering information that is hard to find, identifying both opportunities and threats.
  • This platform analyzes the competitor's sales pitch, finances, organizational structure, customer base, and the natural ecosystem.

Research Strategy

Our research strategy was able to identify tools that provide the advertising spend of competitors. We searched through various industry reports, review sources, and through lists and competitors of similar tools in this industry. Although these tools provide keyword analysis, the tools/platform have a broader scope, capturing various aspects of advertising.

This research was only able to identify one tool that provides a competitor's estimated advertising spend. Insights into Pathmatics and our research strategy has been provided below.

Pathmatics

  • This is the homepage of the tool's website.
  • Pathmatics is an intelligence platform that specializes in digital marketing. The scale and scope of the information collected from the digital coverage includes desktop, mobile, social, and native.
  • This company uses crawler- and panel-based sourcing technologies in their efforts of gathering information. For this reason, this company is able to deliver an accurate picture of its client's competitive landscape.
  • This intelligence tool is very simple to use. In a few steps, one is able to obtain a comprehensive analysis of competitor ad spend. This report displays the both the spend and impression volumes. It also provides supportive information: the total count of creatives for each brand.
  • Since 2018, the advertising has primarily been digital. TV and print media have witnessed a decline. As digital and social take over, it is important to use tools necessary to speak to a brand's target audience.

Research Strategy

Our research team analyzed various tools and platforms that assist in comparing the advertising efforts of competitors. Our analysis of various tools was unable to identify those that satisfy all the criteria. For this reason, we have provided insights on one tool that comes close to meeting the criteria. Various industry reports and reviews, such as Agency Analytics, provided analyses of the various tools. Our thorough analysis of all these tools was unable to identify another company/tool.
