  • Summary/highlights of the main topics/themes: The Edelman AI Center of Expertise and Edelman Intelligence business units wanted to determine current viewpoints regarding dramatic advances in AI and compare perceptions of the public with those of people who work most closely with technology.
  • The 2019 Edelman survey has revealed that people, especially tech execs, are generally optimistic about AI and the general population believes AI has the potential to transform business, industry, and social services to an unprecedented degree and at an astonishing speed.
  • Among the troubling concerns, both groups strongly believe that "AI will eliminate more jobs than it creates and lead to greater income inequality".

  • At the pace in which investment and absolute dollar amount of big data/AI investment is increasing, it is believed that organizations would report greater results from their investments.

ACCENTURE EXECUTIVE SURVEY ON AI IN HEALTHCARE MULTI COUNTRY 2019

  • Overview of the sponsors/funders: it was funded by Accenture.
  • Publishing outlets: Accenture published it and it was analyzed by Oxford Economics.
  • Main topics/themes in the surveys: The survey shows that health executives in six European countries and Asia Pacific Countries have high enthusiasm for AI technology adoption in their healthcare industry.
  • Additionally, they were enthusiastic about its benefits but are still cautious about which kinds of Artificial Intelligence they would adopt and how they implement them.

Research Strategy

We leveraged the information found on research center sites and service company sites such as Accenture and Deloitte, as these companies usually do survey and research on Artificial Intelligence. Additionally, we were able to find other surveys from other reputable sites. We then compiled the necessary information and wrote this research brief.
