RESEARCH STRATEGY

To identify the marketing and/or communications employees at Destaco, Environmental Solutions Group, Microwave Products Group, VSG (Vehicle Services Group), and Markem-Image, we first examined their respective websites, specifically the "About Us" page. Since most companies offer a list of all or some of their major employees there, we assumed these companies would do the same. However, all we found there was a description of their history, mission, and values. These companies also acknowledged Dover as their parent company. Thus, we proceeded to comb through Dover's website for a list of employees at their subsidiaries. Although Dover offered a list of its management team, these professionals were not broken down by brand since they manage Dover as a whole. Moreover, no marketing or communications executive was included in this list. We also examined Dover's annual reports for this information. The company only referenced the same names on its website. There was no mention of its marketing professionals at the brands it owns.
Our next step involved business intelligence platforms, including Crunchbase and Bloomberg. Typically, these websites provide a list of key employees at different companies. Again, this was a dead end. While most of these companies featured on the platforms, there was no mention of their employees.
As a last resort, we turned to LinkedIn. Of note, more than half of professionals in the US are on LinkedIn. With this in mind, we leveraged the platform to identify the US marketing and communications professionals at Destaco, Environmental Solutions Group, Microwave Products Group, VSG (Vehicle Services Group), and Markem-Image. No marketing and/or communications professionals showed up for Microwave Products Group. We even looked at marketing-related jobs at the company to figure out what professionals that are in charge of marketing or communications are called, in case, they have titles that do not include the key terms we searched. However, we were unable to identify any information on the marketing and/or communications professionals at Microwave Products Group.

However, all we found there was a description of their history, mission, and values. These companies also acknowledged Dover as their parent company. Thus, we proceeded to comb through Dover's website for a list of employees at their subsidiaries. Although Dover offered a list of its management team, these professionals were not broken down by brand since they manage Dover as a whole. No marketing and/or communications professionals showed up for Belvac and Anthony Inc. We even looked at marketing-related jobs at both companies to figure out what professionals in charge of marketing or communications are called, in case, they have titles that do not include the key terms we searched. Their "Job Openings" page had no marketing job titles, neither did job openings at Anthony International and Belvac on Indeed and Glassdoor. Further research revealed a marketing professional at Dover who is in charge of subsidiaries like Hillphoenix and Anthony, as per his LinkedIn job description. Despite the above strategies, we were unable to find any marketing or communications professional at Belvac.
