Research Strategy
Our research shows that the vast majority of job offers for lighting retrofitters are for full-time positions, not subcontractors. We searched job posting sites such as Indeed and Glassdoor. We also looked through media sites for electricians. Finally, we looked for companies that offer lighting retrofit services (such as FSG), focusing on lighting distributors similar to Regency Lighting and Wesco, focusing on those located on the East Coast or in the central US. We looked through their press releases, news articles, and careers pages to check if they are hiring subcontractors for upcoming projects. Since there weren't many relevant results, we assumed that the information about companies hiring subcontractors for lighting retrofit is not publicly available.
We included one company that is looking for subcontractors and a few companies that are hiring lighting retrofitters as contractors. We completed the list with companies that hire for full-time positions. We tried to prioritize those that mentioned that they are growing and/or hiring urgently. We made an assumption that they are the most likely to also be interested in hiring subcontractors.
