History of Combate Americas

Combate Americas is the premier Hispanic Mixed Martial Arts sports company. The franchise includes reality TV programming, live events and mobile programming. Combate Americas' CEO/ founder is Campbell McLaren. Its mission is to reach many martial art fans that have not been well served by the existing Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) sports organizations.

HISTORY

  • Combate America was founded in 2011 by Campbell McLaren, a Co-founder of Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) and had its first event was held in August 2014.
  • It is "the premier Hispanic Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) sports franchise, rapidly becoming the number two sport, after soccer, for Spanish speaking sports fans worldwide."
  • It started as a reality show on cable net mun2 (now Universo). Combate America now includes reality TV programming, live events and mobile programming.
