Cannabis Use Studies 1

BDS Analytics, Harvard-Harris Poll, PSB, and New Frontier Data have surveyed consumers about their thoughts on cannabis, with each surveying about 1,000-2,000 respondents. Eaze emailed their customers a 32-question survey on cannabis, receiving over 10,000 respondents. All information has been compiled on rows 20-24 in this spreadsheet.

According to New Frontier Data, the most common reasons consumers use cannabis are:

55% Relaxation
40% Stress relief
40% Enjoy social experiences
30% Reduce anxiety
29% Improve sleep quality
26% Pain management
16% Stimulate creativity
15% Treat a medical condition

Methodology

All sources obtained their information via surveys or consumer market research. Some surveys were direct at answering whether consumers used cannabis for recreational or medicinal use. New Frontier Data's survey asked consumers the common reasons why people used cannabis and received answers such as relaxation, stress relief, and to treat medical conditions.

Other surveys had relevant results, such as polls on legalization for only medicinal use or both medicinal and recreational uses. BDS Analytics' survey asked if consumers believed cannabis had medicinal benefits in the first place, which could potentially affect how many people used it for medicinal purposes.

Eaze reported consumers used cannabis to reduce or replace other drugs, such as alcohol, opiates, and antidepressants. Although a blog, this is Eaze's official company post on their market research. This is not an opinion piece, and the blog was merely used as a means of publication for their survey results, similar to any other company article. Normally, blogs should not be used as sources, but an exception was made for Eaze.

Conclusion
