Introduction
An overview of each of the 8 provided cannabis retail locations has been provided in the attached spreadsheet. Information regarding population density within a 5-mile radius of each location is not available in the public domain. Where applicable, we have provided data for the entire city or postal code in which the store is located. An overview of findings has been provided below while further details on the logic can be found in the Research Strategy section.
Selected Findings
- About 47% of North York residents are married with children, 32% are married with no children, and 21% are separated parents with children.
- About 54 percent of residents in Toronto aged 20 years or older were married, 30% were single, and 16% were separated/divorced. About 33% of families in Toronto with children were single parents.
- About 52.59% of residents of Ajax are married. The majority of households had a household income of more than $96,949 per year.
Research Strategy
To provide the required details, we began by searching through population statistics and surveys provided by credible sources. We searched through sources such as Statistics Canada, Townfolio, and many others. We also searched other third-party statistics sites such as Statista, Ersys, and Pew Research Center. Although these sources provided relevant data such as demographics of municipalities such as Toronto, data regarding population density within a 5-mile radius of each location was not available. We, therefore, expanded the scope to provide data for the entire city or postal code in which the store is located. However, the latest available data was from the 2016 census. We used this data to calculate/provide the required information as detailed below.

According to the 2016 census 1,865 people were aged between 15 to 19 years, 1,520 were aged between 20 to 24 years, 895 were aged between 25 to 29 years, 1,135 were aged between 30 to 34 years, 1,650 were aged between 35 to 39 years and 1,955 were aged beterrn 40 and 44 years. Estimated people aged 18-44 (currently) = 1,865 + 1,520+ 895 + 1,135 + 1,650 + 1,955 = 9,020.
