Healthline, an independent consumer-health information site, has selected a list of the best diabetes apps for 2016. It includes 14 apps, which were selected based on “user reviews, frequent updates, and overall impact in supporting people living with diabetes.”

GottaBeMobile, a website focused on news and reviews about mobile technology, has assembled a list of top diabetes apps for 2017, based on “feedback from users, app reviews and the day-to-day effect that it will have on living with diabetes.”

Integrated Diabetes Services, founded in 1995 by a diabetes educator and which claims to be “the worldwide leader in remote consulting for Diabetes,” has selected the Best of the Diabetes Apps for 2016. The author of the list says, “through trial, evaluation and online searches, I have found a handful of apps that meet most needs, and work very well. I aim to recommend apps that do not require someone to be an IT guru.”

Medical News Today (MNT), one of the top 360 US sites according to Quancast, is a specialized journal of a leading healthcare publishing company in the UK, Healthline Media UK Ltd., with branches in the US and Taiwan. MNT issued its Best Diabetes Apps of 2017

The Diabetes Institute at the University of Florida has chosen a set of apps for diabetes, which ara rated by users at the App Store.

For iPhone and Android. This app focuses on measuring carbohydrates. Food can be read through direct input of food name or barcode readings, and the nutritional information is then displayed.

For iPhone and Android. This is a tracking app for food (carbs, calories, fat, and protein) and exercise. It can sync with desktops, tablets, and smartphones.

For iPhone and Android. This app can record blood sugar, medications, and injections. It can be used with diabetes types one and two. It can sync with external medical devices. Data-export capabilities. It has a large database of foods, and it allows creation of nutrition plans.

For iPhone. Diabetes Tracker has broad measuring and recording capabilities for variables such as blood sugar, blood pressure, medications, food, etc. It has remarkable charting features, in an app with a simple design.

For iPhone and Android. Designed for children, it can measure and report food intake, as well as levels of insulin and blood sugar. It allows connecting and sending emails, so that adults can monitor the status of the children with diabetes.
