For this research on the largest PWI colleges/universities that focus on Black software engineering candidates, we leveraged credible resources in the public domain, including websites that provide higher education data such as College Factual. We began by finding the top schools in computer science and ranked them by the number of black computer science grads in 2019/2020. We also focused on that are predominantly white (in which White students account for more than 50 percent of the students) and institutions that provide training opportunities or help train black software developers or software engineers and set them up for success in their careers and/or secure recruitment opportunities.
