None of the requested apps require a phone number to be used, but some of them need an email. The complete information for these apps is provided in rows 69-77 of the attached spreadsheet. A short brief of the findings is presented below.
Summary of FindingsAlthough the PS5 has not been released yet, it will work with the PlayStation App, which requires an email to register as a user.
Both the Roku Smart Soundbar and the Roku Streaming Sticks use the Roku App.
The Samsung Wearable app works with Samsung Galaxy Active 2 and Samsung Galaxy Buds and Buds+.

The registration requirements for the apps associated with Livescribe Smartpens, Microsoft Surface Headphones 2, Moleskine Smart Writing Set, Nest Cams, Nest Hub, Nest Hub Max, Nest Learning Thermostat, Nest Mini, and Nintendo Switch are listed in rows 51 – 59 of the spreadsheet attached.
SummaryThe Livescribe+ app is needed to sync Livescribe Smartpens with a smartphone.
The Surface Audio app is needed to sync Microsoft Surface Headphones 2 with a smartphone.
The Moleskine Notes app is needed to sync Moleskine Smart Writing Set with a smartphone.
A user of Surface Headphones 2 does not require an account, email, or phone number to access the Surface Audio app. After downloading, the app automatically requests to pair with the device.
An email address is required to sign in with the Nest app.

SummaryThe Sennheiser Smart Control app is used to sync Sennheiser Momentum 3 with devices, while Simplisafe Security Cams uses the Simplisafe Home Security app.
The Sonos S1 Controller app requires an email address at login or sign up.
The SpotOn Virtual Smart Fence, used to sync SpotOn Fence to devices, requires an email address, phone number, and users can sign up using Facebook accounts.
The Mirror Workout Companion app uses the email address that was used at checkout (mirror.co) when The Mirror device is bought.

The registration requirements for the apps associated with the devices listed in rows 42 to 50 have been provided in the attached spreadsheet.
Summary of FindingsLEGO® Hidden Side™ app is only compatible with iOS 11 and newer with ARKit 2 support and Android 7.0 or newer with ARCore.
AutoPets Connect app is compatible with Apple mobile devices with iOS 10.0 or later and Android mobile devices 8.0 or later, and requires a 2.4 GHz router signal and IPv4 router (5 GHz band not supported; unable to connect to IPv6 routers).
JaxJox app is only compatible with iOS version 10 or higher and Android version 5 or higher.
iRobot Home app is only compatible with iOS version 11 or higher and Android version 7.0 or higher.
Root Coding app is only compatible with Apple devices, but iRobot Root can also be accessed via Chrome browser. Additionally, the app was scheduled to be compatible with Android devices from Summer 2020, although it is not yet available in the Google Play Store.

Most apps require an email to register the account. Phone numbers are rarely required. One app, the Huawei Health app, did not require an email or phone number to set up the app. Occasionally an app which is linked to a bigger company will require login through that company, such as the Amazon Alexa app to control a different company's product. Complete findings can be found in this spreadsheet. 
Email Required Google Home app for use with Google Chromecast and Google TV; email is required to link to the correct Google account.
 Weight Gurus app for use with Greater Goods WiFi Smart Body Scale; email is required to set up the app.
 Hamilton Beach Smart Coffee Maker can be controlled with Amazon's Alexa; an Amazon account and email is required to set up the Alexa app.
 Star Wars the Force Coding Kit app requires a parent's email to be verified before using the app.
 Total Connect Comfort app for use with Honeywell Home Smart Thermostats requires an email to set up the app.
 HP Smart app for use with HP Envy printers redirects to a webpage to set up the account and requires an email account.
 iKuddle app for use with the iKuddle Auto-Pack Litter Box requires an email to set up the app. There is no direct web address to download the app, it can only be found in the app section of the phone.
Phone NumberPhone numbers are only required for the HP Smart app and the iKuddle app. 
Third Party AccountThird party accounts were only needed to sign in to the bigger company controlling the app, such as Amazon (for Alexa). The Hamilton Beach Smart Coffee Maker uses Amazon's Alexa app. 
Unavailable Data Points Google Pixel Buds only has an Android app, and an Android device was not available for this research. It is assumed that similar requirements as the Google Home app (signing in to a Google account) are needed to create the Pixel Buds account. 
 Hot Wheels ID for use with Hot Wheels ID Smart Track Kit required an app purchase for setup, and was therefore not included.

App Registration RequirementsThe requested segment of apps largely deals with smart home devices, but also includes a popular drone flight app. Most of these apps require email in some capacity for registration while none require a phone number, however, several of them give the choice between phone number and email. A majority does not have the option for third party account login. More detailed findings are outlined in the attached spreadsheet.
Notable AppsThe Coway IoCare app has five different third party login/registration options.
 DOGNESS and DJI Fly both allow users to choose between either email or phone number as their primary means of registration.

The detailed registration requirements for the apps associated with devices listed in rows 2 to 11 are provided in the attached spreadsheet. All existing apps require an email address for registration, while apps for Arlo Security Cams, Arlo Video Doorbell, and August Smart Lock/ Smart Lock Pro require a phone number in addition. An overview of the findings is presented below.
SummaryMost of the listed devices require an app to sync, except for Amazon’s Echo Buds and the Artie 3000.
The Amazon Alexa app is not required for Echo Buds to sync with a device but is required for firmware updates and voice assistant capabilities.
The Artie 3000 doesn’t have an app to sync with a device. Instead, it syncs through an internet browser once a device connects to its built-in WiFi.
All of the listed apps require an email address for registration.
Only the apps for Arlo Security Cams, Arlo Video Doorbell, and August Smart Lock/ Smart Lock Pro require a phone number for registration.
None of the apps allow for third-party account registration or sign-in.

The results of this research have been added to the attached spreadsheet in rows 60-68. 
Summary of Findings All the apps required an email, except for the Nividia Shield TV app, which requires no login or registration. Also, Oculus requires an email only if a phone number isn't provided instead. 
None of the apps required phone numbers  except for the Nordic Track app (iFit app), and the Oculus app, unless an email is provided. 
The apps for Nordic Track, Oculus, Parrot, and Petcube allow a third party login option. 
ResearchTo conduct this research, each of the apps were downloaded via Google Play onto a smartphone. From there the registration process was walked through manually to determine the required credentials for registration.

The requested registration requirements for the applications associated with the listed devices have been entered in rows 22-31 of the attached spreadsheet and a brief overview of the findings is presented below.
OverviewUsers can only log in to Portal from Facebook application by using their Facebook accounts.
 Fight Camp - Boxing Workouts application is available only for iOS.
 FitBark Dog GPS & Health app requires an email address to register. The third-party login is available by using a Facebook account only on the Android app.
 Fossil Gen 5 smartwatches use the Wear OS by Google Smartwatch application. Users need to connect and sync their devices before using the application.
 Garmin Forerunner Series and the Garmin Index Smart Scale both use the Garmin Connect app.
