Hello! Thank you for your question about building a spreadsheet for the revenues for IBM, Cisco, HP, Dell, EMC, Microsoft, SAP, VM Ware, Symantec, Motorola, Citrix, Adobe, Salesforce, Redhat, Splunk, FireEye, Juniper, Google, Apple, Amazon, Facebook over the past 10 years (2006 to 2016). In short, I have uploaded the spreadsheet here. I have detailed my approach below. METHODOLOGY I have used the leading financial aggregators as my primary source to capture the revenues reported in annual reports. These are Market watch, Morningstar and Google Finance. Subsequently, I have then referred to individual annual reports (10-K in US) for filling in the gaps as well as verifying the reported revenues. Lastly, I have used popular news articles to report the unavailability of revenues, such as Dell undergoing a shareholder buyout in Oct 2013 and being a private since then and therefore not reporting revenues (annual basis) for the last 3 years. I have provided the sources used in the spreadsheet itself under each company for reference. I notice that you have focused on capturing the trends in revenue for technology companies. However, since these are in different business segments and your end-use is not clear, I can comment that the new technology vendors such as Google, Apple, Amazon, Facebook have been growing strongly compared to older vendors such as IBM, HP, Symantec and Motorola. It is no doubt that these older companies have been struggling but others such as Cisco, SAP, Microsoft, VM Ware, Salesforce have been able to grow albeit less robustly as the newer vendors. CONCLUSION To conclude, the spreadsheet does indicate that the new technology vendors such as Google, Apple, Amazon, Facebook have been growing more strongly compared to older vendors. However, a deeper analysis is suggested to understand the differences in business segments of operation to clearly identify the causal relationship of the decline. I hope the research is helpful.
